Hey, it's March 0f 2011!
The result for SPM 2010, sat by my brother, Jack, is coming out soon. Looking back at last year early of March, when I was studying in Taylor's College and anxiously waiting for my SPM result. I remembered I got so nervous that I played "Chicken Invaders 3 Xmas Version" for at least 3 solid hours to clear my mind. Well, shooting those chickens did help distracting my brain's concern about the result, though just for a short while. The most scary part is, I was in KL, the result is released on weekdays, when I still have lessons in college, and the air ticket go back to Bintulu cost me an arm, so all I can do is to wait for a phone call from my mum to tell me the big news.
Not forgetting the feeling when I got the first call that says my name is not in the list; then the second call where my mum told me that she'd ask around and a teacher told her those students whose names are missing might expect a good news; and finally broke into tears of joy when i was told that i was one of the 5 candidates in my school to score straight A's, in the third call. Yeah, it turned up to be an unexpectedly good one. Ignoring the '+' and '-' sign behind those A's in my result slip, i was more than satisfied with all the 12A's.
Right after that, greetings come. And the most important thing is, my parents are happy. Through the phone, I felt as if I could see their smile as they talked to me in an overjoyed tone.
April, flew back to Bintulu for JPA scholarship interview, with my teachers, friends and relatives congratulating me 'officially' when I meet them.
May, result of JPA overseas scholarship released. My name is not in the list, quite disappointed as I had been longing to go to the UK for pharmacy course. Appealed and waited again.
June, after my semester examination and during the semester break, found my name in the list of candidates of JPA local scholarship. My feeling, at that time, was complicated. Happy, because I'd got the scholarship in hand, as planned, and will have my education and living in future years sponsored by the government; Sad, because I have to say goodbye to my teachers and friends in Taylor's College to go to the new college arranged by the government. I loved those teachers so much that I can still feel the pain in my heart, now, after 9 months leaving them.
"Kazoom!" there goes the Time Machine.
And now, here I am, away from home for the second year, taking A Levels in UCSI, currently in the second semester of the course, waiting for my result of final papers for the first semester to be released on the coming Thursday, as well as worrying about my brother's SPM result.
Funny how time flies as I feel that my SPM result had just been released yesterday, yet today is already about 1 year of the real date. I wonder, that the next time when I look back, will it be the day I graduate as a degree holder? Or the day I get married? Or the day my first grandchildren is born?
